BTEC Applied Science L:evel 3 at Devizes School

Course description

The BTEC level 3 Applied Science qualification is made up of the level 3 Certificate (equivalent to one AS level), and the Subsidiary Diploma (equivalent to one A level).

In year 12 students study 3 compulsory units, these are:

Unit 1 Fundamentals of Science

Unit 2 Working in the Science Industry Unit 4 Scientific Practical Techniques Once these units are completed (at pass, merit, distinction or distinction* level) you will achieve the level 3 Certificate, the equivalent of one AS level.

You can then go on to study 3 units on more specialist areas of Science in year 13, which when combined with your level 3 Certificate will give you the Subsidiary Diploma, the equivalent of one A level.

Entry requirements

Pass grade in BTEC Extension Certificate or C grade in GCSE Core and Additional Science.
