Course description

Hull College School of Hair, Beauty and Catering have been at the cutting edge of  modern and contemporary teaching methods. 

This will ensure that the training you receive will see you preparing and cooking foods that will ensure you are quickly snapped up by local and national employers.

  • Preparing and Cooking Game
  • Preparing and Cooking Poultry
  • Preparing and Cooking Red and White Meat
  • Preparing and Cooking Hot and Cold Sauces
  • Production Session operating our own HU1 Riverside Restaurant to showcase your skills.

Entry requirements

  • Require NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking
  • City and Guilds 706-1
  • Desire to exceed and learn
  • Excellent attendance and outstanding attitude.

You will be required to taste all food you prepare.

Financial information

You will require full chef’s kitchen uniform and strong shoes.

      We want you to enjoy your time at Hull College and to help you make the most of your study time and free time too. Students are able to take part in a wide range of social and recreational activities for our students to participate in when they are not studying, as well as discounts, competitions and give-aways. The College is also fortunate to have an active Student Union which hosts an annual ‘Freshers’ Fair’ for students at the beginning of the Autumn term and organises social events throughout the year.

      Hull College students benefit from some of the best facilities in the country – and that’s official! Our most recent Ofsted report stated that the College has “outstanding specialist facilities”.
