Childcare & Education Diploma Level 3 at Canterbury College Not
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. This qualification holds 420 UCAS points at A*, it is a full time, 5 day a week course, with students being expected to complete tasks and assignments outside of college and in the work setting.
The Diploma enables learners to gain the knowledge and experience which will allow them to work with children from birth to 5 years. You will be looking at topics such as Child Development, Play, Health, Partnership Working, Special Needs, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Observations and Planning and International Perspectives.
This qualification is suitable for a range of learners, wishing to work in Early Years Education and Care. It is also suitable for those wishing to progress to higher education. Entry criteria to this course is GCSE grade C in English and Maths plus three other subjects.
You will be assessed by your tutor and assessor using a range of methods. This will include direct observation in the workplace, E- portfolio of evidence, written assignments and tasks. Learners will need to be on practical work placement as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. There will also be two externally marked assignments. Please note: the assessment opportunities for all externally set and marked assessment for this qualification are limited to one attempt and one further reattempt opportunity (undertaking a alternative assessment).
Upon achievement of the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education it is intended that learners will be able to access higher education to study for Teacher Training, Social Work, Psychology, Education or enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
Students will need a DBS check. Also, a T-Shirt for placement which costs £10.00 is required. All students applying for this course will need to attend the compulsory two day assessment.
