Media Production - BTEC Extended Diploma in Media Production (Level 3) at Hopwood Hall College

Course description

This course is for those who want a practical, work related course with ample opportunity for hands-on activity. It’s ideal for those who already have good portfolio/examples of creative work and want to work within the media industry.
 
The course has an emphasis on practical communication skills, allowing you to learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The majority of our students on these courses go on to pursue courses in media related subjects in television, radio or film production, media studies, communications, journalism, marketing or public relations. In addition to contributing to the department’s radio station broadcasts, you will also participate in live multi-media camera productions, such as our own award ceremonies, and complete a video project for an external client.

The Level 3 course is designed as a two year study programme but there is an option to undertake a diploma in one year instead. Please ask for more details at your interview.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade C or above to include English and Mathematics OR BTEC Level 2 qualification OR NVQ Level 2 OR VRQ Level 2.

Financial information

No cost for 16-19 year olds.

      The Rochdale campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 of the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre
      By Rail:
      Rochdale train station, with frequent connections to Leeds, Bradford and Manchester, is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.
      By Bus: 
      The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
