Sport BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Northolt High School

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport looks at a number of theoretical aspects of sport. Students will cover 9 mandatory units and 9 optional units. They will cover topics such as Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Training, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology and many more. The course will almost entirely be comprised of classroom based theoretical work, with only a few topics including Sports Coaching and Practical Team Sports being of a practical nature.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs above a grade C including Maths and English

Future opportunities

The 180-credit BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport prepares learners for appropriate direct employment in the vocational sector or to progress to a higher education degree at university.

Students who are successful in this course will be well suited to a Sports Science degree with it’s multi-disciplinary approach to Physiology, Psychoogy and Biomechanics.

The health sector in the UK is growing and offers opportunities to anyone interested in Coaching, Personal fitness and Community sport.
