Travel and Tourism Level 2 Certificate at Blackburn College

Course description

Our Level 2 study programme offers a great introduction to the travel industry, combining practical study with work related modules to prepare students for life within the travel industry.

The course helps students to build confidence and communication skills, through coursework activities and in planning residential trips and visits to popular European cities such as London and Paris.

All students are supported to take part in work experience. Previous placements have included; overseas holiday representatives in Italy, passenger services at Manchester Airport, local hotels, museums and travel agencies.

Course content

You will study:

UK and international destinations
Customer service
Cruise operations
Holiday representatives
Travel agency operations

Entry requirements

A profile of at least 4 Grade Ds at GCSE, including maths and English Language.


You will be assessed through a combination of coursework and exams. Coursework will include a range of activities including assignments, role plays, case studies, presentations, leaflets and projects across a variety of subject areas.

Future opportunities

Students achieving an overall Merit or Distinction Grade, and a recommendation from the course tutors can progress onto Level 3 Travel and Tourism, or pursue employment in the Travel and Tourism industry.
