Course description

Electronic Products - GCSE This course will provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic circuits. You will be asked to solve different problem by using design and drawing skills to communicate your ideas and solutions. You will be taught soldering techniques so that you will have the skills to build your own circuits. Other tools and equipment will be used to make the containers that your electronic circuits will go in. In addition to the practical work you will be required to study the theory of electronics which will include mathematics and physics. The course is most suited to pupils who enjoy identifying problems and producing ideas; these will be used to plan and make electronic products. How will I be assessed? Written examination | 50% You will take one paper which will test your knowledge and understanding of electronic products, through questions on designing and making. Coursework | 50% Your coursework will consist of one project (representing 40 hours of work) where you will be expected to design and make a quality electronic product.
