Bench Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

The programme is made up of 3 mandatory units and 3 optional units chosen from a list of 5 to suit the individual and the employer. For this NVQ qualification, you will develop a Portfolio of Evidence while demonstrating the practical skills of the job. Your work is continually assessed and new Action Plans are issued identifying future targets. You will also undertake essential skills (at an appropriate level), Numeracy and Communication, together with a Technical Certificate - Diploma in Site Carpentry. The Apprenticeship is a programme of vocational education and training whereby you will develop your skills, whilst learning on the job, building up your knowledge and experience, gaining qualifications and earning money all at the same time. As an Apprentice, you will: Make basic joints. A selection of small test frames. Fix skirting and backmoulds. All aspects of 1st and 2nd fix, e.g. fixing door frames/hanging doors, building partitions, fixing window bottoms, fixing roof rafters, flat roofs, etc. All other aspects of Site Joinery.
