Work Skills Level 2 at Sleaford Joint Sixth form

Course description

Aims of the Course:
The Edecvel BTEC Level 2 Programme in work sills is a one year course during which students will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful entry and performance in the working environment.
This BTEC qualification is designed to provide a specialist work related qualification. Students will lear through a range of activities based both in the classroom and in the workplace. These activities include role plays, presentations and work experience placements.
Course Content:
The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Programme in work skills consists of a number of units that provide for a combined total of up to 36 credits.
The BTEC work skills course is designed to work alongside other qualifications on offer within the 6th form. Many of our students will also resit their GCSE in maths and/or English at the same time as completing this course. Students will complete the following units:
* Managing your own money
* Searching for a job
* Applying for a job
* Preparing for an interview
* Interview skills
* Self - assessment
* Career progression
* Working in a team
* Learning form more experienced people
* Investigating rights and responsibilities at work

Entry requirements

There are no minimum qualifications required to take this course. You just need a good attendance record and reports from your teachers which demonstrate a positive approach to your studies.
