Marketing Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at PETROC

Course description

The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Marketing (QCF) is for learners who work in, or want to work in, marketing, for example as a marketing assistant, market research assistant or events management assistant.

Course content

It gives learners the opportunity to:
- develop knowledge related to marketing, including marketing theory, digital marketing, market research and how to manage customer relationships
- learn about the legal framework in which marketing operates and also about how legislation and personal responsibilities govern behaviour in the workplace
- achieve a nationally recognised level 2 qualification.

Units will include:

  • Unit 1: Principles of Marketing Theory 
  • Unit 2: Understanding Legal, Regulatory and Ethical Requirements in Sales or Marketing 
  • Unit 3: Principles of Personal Responsibilities and Working in a Business Environment 
  • Unit 4: Principles of Digital Marketing 
  • Unit 5: Principles of Market Research 
  • Unit 6: Principles of Customer Relationships 
  • Unit 7: Understanding the Relationship Between Sales and MarketingThis course can also be undertaken fully in the workplace through our Petroc Direct programme.

Entry requirements

Four D's at GCSE to include English & Maths

4 GCSEs at Grade D or equivalent or above ideally to include Maths and English. Candidates will undertake an interview prior to enrolment. Candidates should have an aptitude for practical skills and must be employed within the industry by a sales or marketing department before the start of the Apprenticeship.

Assessment

The programme will be assessed by completion of the following units:

  • Unit 1: Principles of Marketing Theory 
  • Unit 2: Understanding Legal, Regulatory and Ethical Requirements in Sales or Marketing 
  • Unit 3: Principles of Personal Responsibilities and Working in a Business Environment 
  • Unit 4: Principles of Digital Marketing 
  • Unit 5: Principles of Market Research 
  • Unit 6: Principles of Customer Relationships 
  • Unit 7: Understanding the Relationship Between Sales and Marketing

Future opportunities

Upon completion learners can progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Marketing.
