HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE at Steyning Grammar School
This course will appeal to students who would like to develop the knowledge and skills required by the organisations providing community care. It offers opportunities to explore aspects of health and the management of care services to meet the needs of clients, from young children to the elderly. The course is quite practical involving personal and group investigation of organisations and the clients they serve. It also focuses on developing the skills required for the wide range of employment offered by the care industry.
There will be on-going links with local care providers including the opportunity to do some work placements focused on aspects of the course. The course enables students to progress to further and higher education or into training with an employer.
For Year ONE - 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C
For Year TWO - Achievement of the first 3 AS units
