Customer Services Apprenticeship at Furness College
Apprenticeships in Customer Service are for anyone who works in, or wants to work in, customer service in a wide range of different industries.
Apprentice – Level 2
Units studied may include: delivering customer service, understanding customers, principles of customer service, understanding employer organisations and managing personal performance and development.
Advanced Apprentice – Level 3
Units studied may include: organising and delivering customer service, understanding the customer service environment, understanding customers and customer retention, resolving customers’ problems, principles of business and managing personal and professional development.
These are dependent on the sector and the criteria of some employers, but they are normally:
Apprentice Level 2: A minimum of four GCSEs at grades A – E or an equivalent qualification.
Advanced Apprentice Level 3: An Apprenticeship at Level 2 or other equivalent qualification.
The Apprenticeship is assessed on practical aptitude, a portfolio of work and external assessment. The technical certificate is assessed by means of a 2 hour examination at level 2 and a 3 hour examination at level 3. Maths and English are assessed by examination and a portfolio of evidence.
There are no specific extra costs, just stationery for study.
Once the Apprenticeship has finished there is the opportunity to carry on working, maybe get promoted or if appropriate, progress onto advanced level apprenticeships. In some instances you can go on to higher education in a college or university.
