Course description
The City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques deepens your knowledge of Beauty Therapy techniques and services, and will allow you to progress into a working role as a practicing Beauty Therapist.
In a similar way to the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma, the Level 3 Diploma continues to develop industry-standard practical skills and experience, supported by up-to-date theoretical knowledge of issues in beauty related industries.
Course content
As part of the Level 3 diploma you will develop more advanced salon techniques, such as a range of massage skills, with the use of facial and body therapy machines. You will also develop knowledge of the skills relating to important areas of study in Beauty
Therapy, including health and safety and working with colleagues in the beauty industry.
There are 9 units in the Level 3 Beauty Therapy course that you will study:
- Working with colleagues within beauty related industries
- Monitoring and maintaining health and safety practice in the salon
- Client care and communication in beauty related industries
- Promoting and selling products and services to clients
- Providing body massage
- Providing facial electrotherapy treatments
- Providing body electrotherapy treatments
- Providing Indian head massage
- Applying stone therapy massage
Entry requirements
Level 2 Beauty Therapy, excellent attendance and communication skills.

After successful competition of the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques you may wish to progress on to higher education such as a Foundation Degree in Salon Management or you could choose to go straight into employment.
