Performing Arts A Level at Cramlington Learning Village
This exciting Performing Arts A Level gives students an understanding of Performing Arts and combines it with the opportunity to specialise in either performance or production support. While developing their own skills, students will also gain insights into the nature of the industry and how it functions, including constraints and the issues facing professionals working within the Performing Arts sectors. The course has an AS/A2 structure with three AS Units studied in Year 12 and three A2 Units studied in Year 13.

5 A* - C GCSEs across a range of subjects. Good progression route from GCSE Drama.
There are no written examinations. Assessment is solely through written portfolio coursework and performance, which are internally assessed and externally moderated.
The written element of this course accounts for 60% of the exam grade and is a demanding aspect of the course. All of the course units now require a written element and strict deadlines must be adhered to. Pupils are provided with written and practical support from staff.
This course offers students the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding for entry into employment or self-employment in the Arts and Entertainments field. You can also go onto study a degree course in the Performing Arts and Entertainment Industries. Previous students have gone on to study Musical Theatre, English Literature & Theatre Studies and Acting at Degree Level, whilst others have sought routes in to Drama College, field experience or specialist Performing Arts schools.
