Course description

The emphasis in new syllabuses is on contemporary French/ German/ Spanish issues and communication skills, the ability to listen, speak, read, write and understand modern languages. Practice and experience are gained through authentic topical material, eg.Newspapers and magazine articles and radio and video cassettes. etc. You may study topics on aspects of European life and literature in class, but students are expected to extend their studies at home.

Entry requirements

To follow the advanced Level 3 route you must have 5 or more GCSEs at Grade C or above. You just have Grade B in the AS level subject options you wish to study or Grade C in applied subject options.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level course or equivalent to prepare for higher education in French, Languages or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to French or Languages such as a Teacher, Translator, or you may wish to use your French to study or work over in France. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the travel and tourism sector.
