Plumbing Studies C&G Level 2 Diploma at Grantham College

Course description

This level 2 qualification is aimed at you if you, are looking to start a career in the plumbing and heating industry. It covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the plumbing and heating industry. Suitable for anyone from 16 years old or over.

Course content

In order to complete the qualification the following practical assessments and theory exams are all compulsory:

  • Health and safety
  • Electrical principles
  • Scientific principles
  • Plumbing processes
  • Cold water systems
  • Hot water systems  
  • Sanitation
  • Central heating systems
  • Drainage systems

Entry requirements

4 x GCSE’s at ‘C’ or above. 1 in Math, 1 in English and 1 in Science. Plus the completion/passing of an entry test followed by an interview.

Assessment

The successful completion of the 7202 level 1 and end test. Or a paper based assessment/entry test to ensure that learners have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully

Financial information

Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.  Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.

Future opportunities

On successful completion this qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to further progress your learning within the plumbing and heating industry.

To become a qualified plumber you can progress onto the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Fulltime)
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Apprenticeship)
