Course description

Do you see yourself as the next Alan Sugar? This could be where it all starts for you!

This one year course is a fantastic starting point for anyone with a keen interest
in business. This course aims to give students practical knowledge of a range of business skills, a thorough understanding of the key elements within business and delivers hands-on active learning through participation in employer-led projects.

You will also have the opportunity to improve your Maths and English skills by resitting Maths and English GCSE where necessary.

  • Financial Planning and Forecasting
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Promoting a Brand

Entry requirements

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above, including English.
  • Students progressing from Level 1 will require Functional Skills in Maths & English and an assessment.

Assessment

The course is assessed via a combination of external examinations and internal assessments.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course at Merit level or above would allow progression onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.

      We want you to enjoy your time at Hull College and to help you make the most of your study time and free time too. Students are able to take part in a wide range of social and recreational activities for our students to participate in when they are not studying, as well as discounts, competitions and give-aways. The College is also fortunate to have an active Student Union which hosts an annual ‘Freshers’ Fair’ for students at the beginning of the Autumn term and organises social events throughout the year.

      Hull College students benefit from some of the best facilities in the country – and that’s official! Our most recent Ofsted report stated that the College has “outstanding specialist facilities”.
