Art, Craft and Design AS/A Level at Bury College

Course description

In AS Level and A Level Art, Craft and Design you will work in the area of 2D Fine Art plus at least one of the following areas: Textile Design, Graphic Communication, Three-Dimensional Design or Photography. You may explore overlapping areas and combinations of areas in order to develop your art and design skills to an advanced level. As part of your studies, you will explore a range of creative skills leading to results further developed in your best area. You will be encouraged to work in a variety of different media as stated in the individual subject areas. You will also have the opportunity to visit galleries.

Entry requirements

To take four or more AS subjects in your first year and carry through to at least three full A Levels in year two, you need six GCSEs at grades A*-C, including two subjects at grade B. These need to include grade A*-C in Art or a Design subject and grade A*-C in English. If you are entering with a grade C in Art, or with a Design subject, you may be required to attend extra drawing classes to improve your drawing skills.
