Product Design AS/A2 Level at The Bishops' Blue Coat CofE High School

Course description

Product Design is a practical and academic based subject in which students in which students design and make products and study them with relation to:

the customer / specification industrial and manufacturing processes, social and manufacturing processes, design and market influences, materials and components.

Course content

In the first year (AS) you will cover two units: Unit 1 Written paper Unit 2 Coursework.

In the second year (A2) you will also cover two units: Unit 3 Written paper Unit 4 Coursework

Entry requirements

Grade C in Maths and English. B grade or above in GCSE Design and Technology or 3D Design.

Assessment

2 design & make projects 2 written examinations.

Future opportunities

Many careers are available from this course as all 'products' have been designed. University degrees are available in many fields e.g. Product Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Architecture, Theatre Design.
