A student with a grade C or better in GCSE Art and Design would be a likely candidate for A Level Art but other students without a qualification in the subject could be considered. This would have to be on the basis of the individual’s proven level of artistic skill and would be at the discretion of the Head of Art. Important qualities that a student must bring to the course are high levels of attendance and punctuality, interest and creativity, enthusiasm and self-motivation, and a capacity for hard work.
