Computer Science AS & A2 at Crossley Heath School

Through this qualification students will have the opportunity to focus on programming, and emphasise the importance of computational thinking as a discipline.
Programming languages such as Python and Java will be used to learn the key principles. There will be an expanded maths focus, much of which will be embedded within the course.
Computational thinking will be at its core, helping students to develop the skills to solve problems, design systems and understand human and machine intelligence.
Students will apply the academic principles learned in the classroom to real world systems in an exciting and engaging manner.
Assessment is via external examinations at AS level and a combination of coursework and external assessment in the A level qualification.
Computer Science will offer students a clear progression into higher education for a variety of courses such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Creative Media.
