Beauty Therapy Level 3 at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Course description

Are you preparing for a career in beauty therapy? Would you like to develop specialist, professional knowledge of the beauty industry?

This course enhances your technical skills and gives you in-depth knowledge of specialist areas.

The course is suitable for students progressing from a relevant Level 2 course. In addition to your core modules, it also allows you to specialise in one of five routes: Make-up or Massage (Rhos-on-Sea), Nails (Rhyl) or General Route or Spa Therapy (Bangor).

Course content

The course will be delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Practical Delivery
  • Theory Sessions
  • Commercial Salon Training

You will study a variety of subject-specific modules, in addition to some specialised modules and Literacy and Numeracy skills. You will also undertake work experience as part of the course.

*At some campuses, you may be required to study the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification.

Entry requirements

  • Beauty Therapy Level 2

All places are subject to satisfactory interview.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a blend of the following:

  • Observation
  • Practical assessments
  • Written and Oral Tests

Future opportunities

The course gives you a qualification and a valuable set of skills, helping you to progress into employment and higher education.

You could proceed onto a degree-level course at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, such as the Foundation Degree (FdA) Management and Business at the Rhos-on-Sea campus, or a specialised degree course at another institution.

Alternatively, you could enter employment within a hotel, spa or salon environment.
