Technology - Food Technology at Brentwood County High School

Course description

Have you ever wondered…Why is obesity such a problem in the UK? Or How do manufacturers peel hundreds of tonnes of potatoes? Or Why are additives added to food, are they really necessary? If the answer is Yes, then Food Technology could be the course for you.

Food Technology is a fast moving and diverse subject, which includes many current issues

that are focused on in the media, e.g. health concerns, school dinners and the influence of the major retailers. It is a course which combines theory and practical skills in areas such as Materials, Components and Application, and Design and Manufacture

Entry requirements

Students must have at least grade B in the subjects chosen for study

AND

Must have at least grade C in English.
