You know a huge amount about this course before even beginning – business has surrounded you since the day you were born! Bank accounts, shops and products, it is everywhere!
This course is equivalent to 2 GCSE grades C and above. This qualification can be taken together with another level 2 course and possibly for those who need to retake Maths and English. It is a form of a foundation year that is the stepping stone to gaining enough qualifications to reach a Level 3 / A level course in the future.Course Overview
Enterprise in the business world - What is a business? Explore ownership, stakeholders and business models
Finance for business - Examine the world of business from a money perspective. Looking at start-up costs, sales of goods/services and their relationship with gross profit.
Principles of marketing - Understanding marketing planning, marketing mix and market research.
Principles of customer service - How does a business remain competitive? It is essential to keep the customers happy by supporting their needs and expectations
Using business documentation - A knowledge and understanding of the most appropriate forms of written communication for conveying messages to internal audiences, external stakeholders and the public.
Introducing law and consumer rights - Investigating the most up to date legislation affecting both buyers and sellers
Financial planning and forecasting - To be able to use break-even analysis, budgets and cashflow forecast.
Building successful teams - Using and understanding team work and different roles within teams.
No Business experience neccessary
Your GCSE's are likely to be around the D grade
On completion of the course, you can progress to a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or a BTEC Level 3 Diploma, or another related subject. You may also wish to pursue a career in the below areas.
