Course description

The sector has demonstrated a growing trend with salons, day spas, leisure clubs and hotel spas locally and internationally. Within the UK 35 million people spend over £5.2 billion on beauty services and treatments. The level 3 qualification enables you to be part of this exciting and dynamic sector of employment.

Course content

This is a practical based course and you will receive ongoing assessment on your practical skills. There will be theory which underpins the practical knowledge. In addition to your study programme, you can be working in a salon or spa performing Beauty treatments.

Entry requirements

A full Level 2 Diploma in Beauty qualification plus a GCSE Grade C in English or Maths


You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial salon environment with external paying clients. You will collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, demonstrations and presentations.

Future opportunities

Upon completion of this programme you can gain employment in one of the many sectors of the Beauty industry. Further study at Level 3 Complementary Therapy or Make-Up Artistry, there is also the opportunity to progress onto Higher Education.

Positions include mobile freelance Therapist, self-employed Therapist, Beauty Therapist within spas, salons, hotels, cruise liners and international opportunities are also available. Further opportunities for career advancement are available with further study such as Spa Management, Teaching and Assessing or Sales Manager roles.
