Skills for Business NCFE Diploma Level 3 at St Helens College

Course description

This course is designed for those who are looking to progress onto an apprenticeship in business and administration or successful employment within the industry.

You will explore the business environment, learning how to communicate effectively, produce documents and contribute to the running of interesting projects.

Course content

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Producing documents in a business environment
  • Communicating in a business environment
  • Solving problems in a business environment
  • Text, legal and word processing
  • Keyboard skills and business presentations and documents
  • Contributing to the running of a project
  • Managing and improving your own performance

There is also an opportunity to undertake work experience with a local employer. Your tutors will be able to support you to do this.

Entry requirements

You should have four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and maths.

English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.

Assessment

You will be assessed by a range of different methods such as observations, witness testimony, worksheets, assignments, projects, reports, discussions and verbal and written questioning.

Financial information

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will have all of the necessary skills and knowledge needed to secure employment within the business industry.
