Early Years Education and Care Level 3 Diploma at Carlisle College

Course description

This is a level 3 course designed to prepare you for work with children from 0-19 years. You will learn about children's development, health, play and learning.

 Theme two : Legislation frameworks and professional practice

 Theme th ree: Play, development and learning for school readiness

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including Maths and English or Level 2 vocational qualification at Merit or Distinction and Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English or Scottish equivalent. Mature students with relevant experience and/or other qualifications may be eligible.


You will be assessed by observation in placement, a portfolio of evidence, a short exam, external assignment and longitudinal study.

Future opportunities

  • You will have a qualification to practice in the sector.
  • Proceed to University with a potential of 280 UCAS points.

You will attend college 2 days per week plus 2 days practical placement.
