Massage Therapy Level 3 Diploma at Oaklands College

Course description

You will be required to cover and achieve a range of units which will be deliverd holistically to ensure you become a competent therapist.

Course content

Units may include: Health, Safety and Hygiene, Anatomy, Physiology, Body Message, Healthy Eating and Wellbeing, Hot Stone Therapy, Indian Head Massage, Pre-blended Aromatherapy.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at Grade C or above or Level 2 Complmentary Therapies or Beauty Therapy. You must also possess a recent satisfactory reference and attend a successful interview.

You need to have a keen interest in Anatomy and Physiology, enjoy analysing the clients concerns and providing a clear treatment plan.

Assessment

All units will be assessed using a variety of techniques including written projects, online assessments, case studies, mutiple choice exams and practical assessments. You willl be required to perfoem treatments of paying clients and attend external events in order to complete your treatment portfolio.

Financial information

Students are required to purchase a kit and uniform (cost approx £250)

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

Employment within the holistic treatments industry, in a spa or salon. Alternatively further study may be pursued inbeauty therapy, nail services, theatrical media makeup or Higher Education.

Further information

You will need to receive all treatments as well as provide them to external clients. Clients are provided through the Oasis salon, however, you may find that in order to complete an assessment you may need to provide your own clients. Timetable are subject to change with notice provide, due to salon timetables.
