Football and Education Programme Diploma (AFC Wimbledon) - Level 1 at South Thames College

Course description

If you have potential on the field and are particularly interested in working in pro-football, this course will see you train with AFC Wimbledon while studying for a nationally recognised sport qualification at college. It could be your first step towards a career in sport that will also give you great chances to practice your passion on the pitch.

Course content

You'll train three mornings a week with UEFA-qualified coaches at AFC Wimbledon on a full-sized 3G pitch. You'll improve your technical and tactical skills as well as test your fitness through stamina and speed training. You'll put your skills into practice in competitive matches against other professional clubs' college teams (including Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham) in the PLFL Development League or Football Conference Youth Alliance. To help you play like a professional, you'll be supported by the club's Sports Science and Medical Team to help keep you fit and healthy. The football programme is overseen by Academy management who will identify anyone with enough talent to make the next step-up towards the club's U18 or U21 groups – work hard enough and it could be you!
