Diploma in Construction Skills - Level 1 at South Thames College

Course description

A chance to pick up the skills and knowledge to carry out a range of basic construction tasks such as painting and decorating, joinery and plastering. This course will give you the necessary skills to work on a construction site and be useful from day one. You'll visit trade shows and site visits to help you understand what it'll be like to work on a real construction site. If you complete the course successfully, you'll leave the course with a CSCS card meaning you can work on a building site. You'll also work towards a PASMA certificate to give you training in building towers for working at heights. We have a close relationship with Wandsworth Council to keep awareness of the local jobs market and the opportunities available to you. Our top performing students will also have the opportunity to do work experience with a local company.

Entry requirements

Three GCSEs grade A*-G in relevant subjects or other related qualifications and experience.

Assessment

A range of practical assessments in each area of work.

Future opportunities

Move on to one of our Level 2 courses or look for work on a site.
