Our Catering Apprenticeships play a vital role in our Care Home. You will be at the centre of the everyday lives of our residents and will develop as you are supported and trained in Best Health Care and Catering practice. You will be trained by our Chef.

Course content

This opportunity requires you to work closely with the catering team to provide tasty, nutritious and well balanced meals for the people we support and their families. BHC prides itself in the high quality food service we provide, all we expect from you is that you share this passion for quality and work to maintain our standards to the best of your ability.you will report firstly to the Head Chef on a daily basis and ultimately the General Manager for Direction.* helping residents with their daily food choices when required* supporting Chef and Staff at meal times* ensure a clean and professional working kitchen environment * food preparation and cooking* attend Mandatory + Legislative Training* demonstrate a willingness to engage with both residents and staff to continue in developing a culture of positive care

Desired skills We are looking for good communication, a sincere approach to this opportunity, a natural kindness and a willingness to learn.Personal qualitiesWe would like you to be of a pleasant nature, have a can do attitude and be enthusiastic about delivering the best quality food and choice we can for our residents.We need you to always be on time, turn up for training and commit to your programme of learing for its duration, which will be a minimum of 12 months.We also appreciate that starting out can be challenging and ask that you talk to us, discuss your thoughts, pass on your ideas and try to embrace our whole home approach.Qualifications requiredNo qualifications necessary as all training will be given.We need you to be reliable, punctual and have common sense.

Assessment

A full induction programme will be included covering;Health + Safety, Food Safety, Fire Training, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults SOVA and Dementia Training.Technical Certificate, Key Skills, NVQ Diploma, Employment Rights + Responsibilities (ERR)Apprenticeship framework:Catering and Professional ChefsThe training provider has achieved a sector success rate of 100% for this type of apprenticeship training.

Financial information

An apprenticeship is a programme of learning while at work. Our apprenticeships are offered free – all we ask is that you complete the programme.
Weekly wage: £150.01
