Professional Cookery Level 2 Diploma at Accrington and Rossendale College
This nationally recognised qualification will open doors to a range of quality job opportunities nationally and internationally, as well as the opportunity to progress to Level 3. It is a full-time course over one year before commencing the Level 3 qualification. You will study in the kitchen areas of the outstanding Hospitality and Catering section, undertaking both theoretical and practical aspects of the industry. Work placements are also offered in a variety of hospitality establishments. In addition to your course programme you will study towards Level 3 Food Safety Award and a Customer Care qualification.
You will need a Level 1 Diploma in Professional Cookery.
Assessment will be through kitchen practical synoptic tests and written assessments.
This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds.
This course will cost a maximum of £480 for learners aged 19 years old or above. This fee may be reduced or void depending on the individual’s circumstances.
Gaining this Level 2 qualification will give you the best possible start to a professional career in the catering industry and allow you to progress to Level 3. Assessment is continuous with end of year synoptic tests.
The Hospitality and Catering section is housed in the multi million pound Heartwood Centre in the centre of Accrington, the environment where you will study has been specially designed so that you can gain skills that employers are looking for. You will work in the kitchen area which services the busy Roots Restaurant and will also have the opportunity to gain experience catering on busy conferences and functions. We provide a learning experience which is hands-on as well as theoretical in a College that has a long tradition of producing graduates who go on to work at the highest level in a range of premiere catering establishments.
