Motortech (Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - Light Vehicle) Level 3 Diploma at City College Plymouth

Course description

This advanced study programme will build on your previous knowledge, skills and qualifications to introduce you to more complex maintenance and repair systems. You will complete a research project covering operation and diagnosis of systems, which will allow you to improve your problem solving skills and prove you can work on your own initiative.

Course content

Your individualised study programme will be made up of the following four areas:

  • the qualification you are studying
  • English and maths
  • work experience
  • other activities to develop your personal skills e.g. preparing you for employment, training or higher/further education.

Entry requirements

You will need to have GCSEs at grade D in English and maths, and a level 2 diploma. 

Assessment

Variety of practical tasks and assessments, online and paper exams 

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this qualification you may progress onto a higher level course at the College or gain employment in the industry as, for example, a trainee vehicle technician, which would allow you to work towards the NVQ elements of this diploma, adding value to your qualification.
