3D Design BTEC Level 3 at Stockton Sixth Form College

Course description

Why study 3D Design?

  • I want to be on a hands on course

  • I want to undertake projects relating to product design, interior design or architecture.

Course content

The course is project based with the majority of time being spent in the drawing/computer room, art studio and workshop. Students will have the opportunity to decide between product design, architecture or interior design projects

Throughout the course you will develop many skills including; observational drawing, photography, researching, media experimentation, computer aided design and model making.

Entry requirements

Stockton Sixth Form College prides itself on having options for students of different abilities, and would advise any prospective student interested in applying, whatever their predicted grades, to get in touch so that a suitable programme of study can be discussed.

The college has a flexible timetable whereby almost all combinations of subjects are possible. Students will be advised of any non-compatible subject choices, if appropriate, at enrolment.

Assessment

Internally, with students producing a sketchbook and portfolio for each unit.

Future opportunities

This subject is accepted by all universities for a wide range of courses including product design, interior design, graphic design and architecture.
