Fabrication and Welding Intermedieate and Advanced Apprenticeship at Grimsby Institute

Course description

This Apprenticeship is designed for those who have an interest in or are already employed in the industry as a Welder/Fabricator. You will study the basic principles of fabrication and welding technology and acquire and develop practical skills in different types of welding techniques and processes within our specialist and fully equipped welding workshop.

This framework gives opportunity to progress to advanced level and is suitable for job roles such as a: Sheet Metal Worker, Plater/Fabrication, Welder.

Entry requirements

Most occupations require a minimum of grade C in English, Maths and ICT, although some only require a minimum of grade D.

Some occupations within the Engineering sector will require Science at a minimum of grade C.

A Vocational Assessment may have to be taken and passed for some Apprenticeships before acceptance onto the programme.

Assessment

Training is delivered on a day release basis at the Institute where a Tutor will monitor
your progress. You will be allocated an Assessor who will conduct assessments in the
workplace.
