Graphics A-Level at Campion School

Course description

Students will be introduced to a variety of techniques and experiences with in Graphic Design. Themes will be set which will allow you to explore in your own direction to produce exciting pieces of work. The majority of work will be of a practical nature with critical and analytical studies which demonstrate your understanding of the theoretical nature of the work.

Entry requirements

Grade C or above at GCSE or equivalent in an art related subject


The coursework is centre assessed and moderated by AQA. AS candidates are required to submit a portfolio of work for Unit 1 (coursework 60%) and an exam unit 2 (40%) piece which includes a 10 hour final exam. A Level candidates are required to submit a unit of practical work including an extended essay (coursework 60%) and an exam unit (40%) which includes a 15 hour final exam piece.

Future opportunities

This course will complement other Art and Design courses such as Art or Textiles and will lead you onto higher education to study Art and Design or any other area with in the field of Creative Arts. It will give you the opportunity to produce a strong portfolio of work necessary to apply either for an Art Foundation or a degree course in Art and Design. Many of our students successfully progress to study at art school and beyond to careers as artists and designers.
