Assessment

Controlled Assessments are between 3 to 4 hours of class time. If your student completes a controlled task, that controlled task must be submitted for examination in that academic year. (Johnny did Producing creative texts in October 2010, so his piece will have to be examined/ marked by June 2011)

Two controlled assessments are needed for English and three for English Language.

There are now 2 examination papers for Literature: a. Modern Prose or Drama (20 th century drama and Exploring Cultures 'Of Mice and Men') and Poetry Across Time: Poetry cluster from the anthology and responding to an unseen poem.

Progression to Level 3, AS/A2 Level, AVCE, BTEC Award, Advanced Diploma Level 3, Progression Diploma Level 3, NVQ 3, Advanced Apprenticeship in related subjects, Access to HE

Further information

It is possible for students to complete so much of the English course and then do the extra work to be entered for the English Language course (completion of the Spoken Language Study will be needed)
