Art and Design Level 2 Extended Certificate at Aylesbury College

Course description

This course is designed to provide you with an introduction to a wide range of skills suitable for the creative industries. Creativity and experimentation are promoted throughout this course as students combine mediums to produce innovative and exciting outcomes.

Course content

You will develop a diverse portfolio of Graphic Design, Photography and Mixed Media work. The course aims to develop ‘whole creative’ - those who are able to produce work in a variety of modern creative mediums which is now expected by future.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at C or above including English and/or Maths and a creative subject such as Art, Graphics, Photography or Textiles. You will be required to attend a taster session and provide a portfolio of work upon interview.


The course is 100% coursework.

Future opportunities

After completion, you will be able to progress onto the Subsidiary Diploma in Visual Arts (Level 3).

This course is designed to enable you to be suitable to enter junior positions in some creative sectors with skills that will enable you to work effectively and creatively.
