Beauty Therapy Advanced Apprenticeship - City & Guilds Level 3 at Redcar & Cleveland College

Course description

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy provides training, assessment and knowledge for employees with previous work experience in the beauty therapy industry. During the Advanced Apprenticeship you will work as a beauty therapist, learning techniques such as body massage as well as more complicated electronic treatments to remove unwanted hair or improve skin condition.

You will work closely with clients and possess the ability to put them at ease, and generally be pleasant and personable.

Most therapists are based in salons, although some can work in hospitals, resorts, and even cruise liners. It can be a glamorous career choice - with further training you might become a make-up artist for film and TV, or help develop new products. In the future you might run your own salon, or work for individual clients.

To gain the qualifications listed below, you will need to be employed in a beauty therapy environment carrying out practical activities in order to gain the relevant basic skills and knowledge needed to work in a salon. You will usually attend college one day per week, attend training within your salon and receive frequent visits from your tutor.

The current framework is:

Induction programme
