Playwork Apprenticeship at West Cheshire College

Course description

The Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship in Playwork will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work flexibly across a range of settings in the children and young people‚Äôs sector. They also provide a sound basis for career options in after-school provision, holiday clubs, and those wanting to become Play Assistants.  Apprentices attend College one day per week to study the Level 2 Diploma in Playwork (NVQ) and work towards improving their functional skills in English and maths. Apprentices are also required to complete a Paediatric First Aid Certificate. The Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Play Assistant. The Advanced Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Play Supervisor.

Advanced Apprentices attend College one day per week to undertake a Level 3 Diploma in Playwork (NVQ) and work towards improving their functional skills in English and maths.

Entry requirements

This Apprenticeship would suit those who are currently working in the children and young people's sector and would like to work and gain a recognised qualification.

Assessment

You will be mainly assessed within the workplace.

Future opportunities

The Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Play Assistant. The Advanced Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Play Supervisor.
