Fine Art (Painting & Drawing) A Level at Queen Mary's College

Course description

This course aims to expand your knowledge and skills in two-dimensional Fine Art. The subject’s main aim is to communicate ideas in an exciting visual form, to explore materials and experience many different techniques and ideas. A willingness to experiment and explore lots of possible solutions is essential.

You will study: drawing, painting and mixed media, colour, experimental ways of making images e.g. collage and print making and other artists work.

Initially students will develop their skills and explore the expressive nature of the formal elements of art and design. Students will learn how to exploit colour line, tone, surface and composition and then use these to develop their own visual language.
