Acting Extended Diploma at Sandwell College

Course description

This course is aimed at students who want to continue their learning via the creative world of Performance. The nature of the course demands total commitment and high levels of energy from students. Full-scale productions are staged each term for a variety of different audiences. This two-year, full-time course is the equivalent of 3 A Levels and offers the opportunity to cover the practical as well as the theoretical areas of drama. If you are passionate about the arts and enjoy drama and performing, then this could be the course for you.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C and above, including English, and/or a Level 2 qualification or equivalent.


Learning methods include practical drama workshops; theatre productions; private study; tutorials; theatre visits and class work.

Future opportunities

Most students have university or drama school as a target at the end of their studies, and past students have gone on to join degree-level courses across the country, including Birmingham School of Acting, ALRA, De Montford University, and Stratford upon Avon College.
