A Level Sport and Exercise Science at The Giles Academy

Course description

Students interested in our sports courses require an interest in sport in general and should be prepared to participate in practical sessions. In addition, many of our students represent Academy Teams in local and national competitions. Our students will work closely with local primary schools and have the opportunity to lead sporting activities for pupils of the lower school. They take part in the Community Sports Leaders Award and have the opportunity to participate in National Governing Body Awards. Areas of study include: Practical sport Sports coaching Fitness testing Exercise health and lifestyle Current issues in sport Anatomy

Entry requirements

A minimum of: 5 GCSEs at grade C or above BTEC First Diploma at PASS or above and one GCSE grade at C or above BTEC First Certificate at PASS or above and 3 GCSEs at grade C or above
