Course description

It is a two year course that involves both theory and practice. You will be required to attend 200 hours of work placement in a variety of settings. You will also be required to attend college for theory sessions, where you will cover 18 units such as:Effective Communication;Equality, Diversity and Rights;Health, Safety and Security;Development Through The Life Stages;Anatomy and Physiology;Personal and Professional Development;Sociological Perspectives;Psychological Perspectives.

Entry requirements

You will be 16 years old or above;You will have 5 A-C grades in academic subjects including English Language;All applicants require a clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).Disclosure and Barring Service:The College is a registered body under the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and will enable students to apply for a Disclosure check. The College will ask for DBS registration for students on this course. If you are applying for a place you need to be aware that you should be willing to discuss previous convictions, reprimands, cautions or final warnings prior to enrolling on the course. This will allow us to provide you with appropriate information, advice and guidance on an individual basis.

Assessment

You will be assessed using a range of methods. This could include coursework, oral questioning, presentations or practical activities. You will also be required to maintain a Personal and Professional Development portfolio.
