Expressive Arts GCSE at Firth Park Academy
The course builds on skills taught in all areas of Expressive and Performing Arts in Key Stage 3. You will be expected to do a great deal of practical work so a willingness to perform or present your work to others is important. You will also work with visiting artists and go to see productions / performances out of school.
You need an interest in at least two of the following art forms:
MUSIC, DRAMA, DANCE, VISUAL ARTS, VERBAL ARTS, VIDEO.
60% Coursework Two units of coursework are required based on a different area of study.
Each unit consists of a) A presentation - 40%
b) A working notebook - 20%
40% Controlled Test A 15 hour practical exam (spread over a few weeks) resulting in a presentation for a chosen audience.
An evaluation of the success of the presentation.
