UNIT 1 – PHED1 - Theory Students will study a wide range of topics from five areas Health - fitness & Nutrition Exercise Physiology Skill Acquisition National frameworks + school sport provision History of sport & Physical Education

UNIT 2 – PHED2 - Practical Analysis and evaluation of physical activity as a performer and/or in an adopted role/s Students will perform a range of practical activities

UNIT 3 – PHED3 - Theory Students will study a wide range of topics from four areas Energy systems and mechanics of movement Psychological aspects that optimise performance Evaluating contemporary influences when optimising performance to achieve elite status Deviance in sport

UNIT 4 – PHED4 - Theory Optimising practical performance in a competitive situation Students will work to refine performance in a range of practical activities

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade C English OR Maths, and CC in Science. PE not essential but if taken, must be Grade C. Students who do not regularly participate in club level sport (or higher) outside the school will not be considered.
