BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT and Computing at Appleby Heritage Centre

Course description

BTEC diplomas provide a practical insight into the workings of real businesses and the secrets of their success. A BTEC diploma is an ideal qualification for those looking to secure a job within a service or retail sector, or indeed for those looking to study at a university.

 

Course content

Students will study modules in:

  • Using ICT to present information
  • Computer systems
  • Website development/management
  • Networking essentials
  • Business and management Information Systems
  • Software design and development
  • Database

Entry requirements

Students will need to be 16 years old and normally have at least 4 GCSE's (grades A*-C) or equivalent.  Students should have a good level of numeracy and literacy to engage with the theoretical aspects.

Future opportunities

A Level 3 BTEC Diploma in IT and Computing is equivalent to 2 GCE A Levels and attracts UCAS points to help students looking to progress to higher education.
