Photography UAL Extended Diploma Level 3 at Doncaster College
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design (Photography) is a one year top up programme in Photography.
Together with a previously achieved Photography Level 3 Diploma it is equivalent to 3 x A levels.
Through the Extended Diploma, learners will develop a greater sense of independence and creativity extending, refining and developing their skills.
It is also possible to complete the BTEC Extended Project qualification during the year, which is the equivalent of one AS level.
The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Photography. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project.
This course is only suitable for learners who have successfully completed a L3 Diploma in Art and Design as well as their allocated functional skills qualification. A satisfactory reference is also required
Functional skills are embedded throughout the course, you may be required to take an exam and/or complete a portfolio to achieve these. The course is assessed continuously with critiques at the end of each project.
Previous National Diploma students have gone on to study Photography at degree level.
Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including product designer, artistic director, graphic designer, photographer and fashion technologist.
