Film Studies A Level at Halesowen College

Course description

You will study a range of practical and theoretical topics, learning both the grammar of film and how to apply your knowledge in your own practical coursework projects. British Cinema, Hollywood, World Cinema and Documentary will be explored and explained; you'll never look at films in the same way again.

Entry requirements

  • At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above across a range of subjects including English Language

You may be expected to resit GCSE Maths and possibly Science as part of your programme, depending on specialist advice.

Assessment

The course is assessed by written exams (70%) and coursework (30%).


Further information

Trips have included visits to The Electric Cinema in Birmingham, screenings as part of National Schools Film Week and Bradford Museum of The Moving Image.
