To gain an apprenticeship in the RAF you still need to meet all of the entry requirements for whichever role it is for and get through all stages of the application process. You will gain the apprenticeship as part of your phase two (trade) training.
The Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship is achieved over a period of 3 years and takes place during your Phase 2 training at the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering Cosford as well as through practical assessment in the workplace by our verifiers located at 14 Main Operating Bases throughout the UK.
- Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering
- Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or
- Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Survival Equipment Maintenance
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths
- Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT
